I wonder what happened there then? Mandy lost 4 games straight and was 0-30 heading for her third service break when she pulled it round again to win 4 points in a row and the match 6-1 6-4.
5 points though, her first real points for a long time. However since she has 13 coming off this week, that's still -8 on balance when these are added.

Agreed. She was in good form (still hurting on her behalf for those match points in Charleston quailes) when she had that ankle injury and had to miss the clay season where she could have continued to progress. I'm hoping she remains healthy, strings some wins together and can get herself into the position to have a successful 2018.

It would be great to see Mandy get back on track, wrist injuries are horrid. Mandy is the closest thing that Gibraltar has to an elite professional athlete since Danny Higginbottoms Gran. Surely Gibraltar is the ideal place for the LTA to develop a winter training base post BREXIT
And lost the second set sadly too 3-6 4-6. Critical game was the 8th game when Mandy had 4 or 5 break opportunities but didn't win any of them. Once she'd missed those, it seemed fairly inevitable that once the score got to *4-5 that she would face BPs herself, and indeed she did, losing the first immediately and the match with it.
Still it's good to see Mandy back. At the moment she is due to miss next week again (she also missed a week between this and her first tournament back), and this is on acceptance lists, including for here again, in two weeks time.
