Week 37 - Great Britain F4 ($15,000) - Nottingham (hard)

Oli v Jonny looks like it could be a very good match.

Qualifier Sean Hodkin had to come out and re-start his match at 4-4 in the third, against the 4th seed.

As said yesterday, Kanar was always going to be the strong favourite - it's a really hard ask to pick up a match like that, especially when the more experiences person (by far) must have been a bit rattled yesterday but will have had time to re-set overnight and do what has to be done.

Which proved to be the case. Kanar served first, Sean got it to deuce, but Kanar held. And then Sean got broken to 30 in the next game.

But excellent effort and he should be very pleased.

Elsewhere, Luke J broke in the first game but got broken straight back. Hope he's not too tired from yesterday.

Finn started OK, it's 1-1 against the second seed - always nice to at least get a game up there when you're seriously outranked.

Finn has just taken the first set, 6-3, against the second seed Frenchman

Long way to go but great start !!!

As feared, Finn is now 0-3 down.

And Luke J has lost the first set in a tie-break :(

(Love the fact that Simon Carr v Catarina has been going on for 30 mins and they've still only played 5 games. Those two deserve each other )

So, we're onto our second of the day for young qualifier underdogs who are 4-4 in the third set against highly seeded Frenchmen....

Sean couldn't do it. Maybe, just maybe, Finn will....

First set to Oli 6-1 vs Jonny Gray. That's a bit of a statement so far.

Yeh !!!!!!!

Young Finn puts out the second seed biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

Needless to say, that must be his best result by far.

So good to see him get a truly good win (he must have needed a ropey match yesterday to get in the groove )
