I see Marcus Willis was a late withdrawal and out of Barnstaple, but still on Roehampton list??? Injured or just part time player now....

Injury might explain his absence from the Team Finals, but as Seagull mentioned in the "Entries" thread, Marcus is down for qualies for the Turkey Challengers over the next couple of weeks, hence the absence from the GB futures - possibly.

I guess we will know more if/when he appears on the Izmir drawsheet this weekend.

Unfortunately he has also withdrawn from Izmir :)

Injury looks like the most likely then, unfortunately.

Getting a bit crowded in Court 6. Billy has fought back and just saved multiple BPs to lead 6-5* in the 2nd. Meanwhile, the players are already warming up for the subsequent match on the same court. confuse

Edit

The next match, involving Rob Carter has now started.  So we currently have two matches going on simultaneously on the same court. Oh the idiosyncrasies of the live scores.  Don't you just love it.

Jonny will have tougher tests of course. But that's a top 500 player next year if not this year. Or I'll eat my hat, and I quite like my hat !

Another nice win for Ryan Penniston too.

Marshall Tutu lost easily though.

Neil and Luke locked in a 3rd set breaker. Proving very tough to pick a winner in that match.

I had Luke down for an upset. But it's certainly 50:50 now.

(Neil beat him very easily when they played earlier this year but I get the feeling that Luke is really moving in the right direction)

At the other end of the scale from Jonny Gray/Mason Recci, after two hours & 37 minutes:

L32:  Luke Johnson WR 1038 defeated (5) Neil Pauffley WR 560 by 5-7 6-3 7-6(6)  biggrin  bleh

Lots of break points/match points came & went in that twelfth game!

*****

L16:  Luke Johnson WR 1038 vs Enrico dalla Valle (ITA) WR 1078

Got your upset right though.  Neil served at *6-5 in the TB, lost both points and Luke served out the next point to win the breaker 8-6.

Never easy when it's two of ours playing against each other.

But Luke did well at the World University Games a few weeks back, was well excited about it, and appears to have got himself a good set-up now. Neil, on the other hand, seems to have been struggling these past few months.

Decent score from Rob Carter but he goes down 5-7 3-6

17 year-old Irishman, Simon Carr, (son of Tommy Carr) also won his match.

Josh Paris has taken the first set in a tie-break.

Looks like the rains have come. Play is suspended.

Josh P is a set and 3-0 up with AD on Kuerschner serve for 4-0

Oli is up a break at *2-1 deuce

Finn is a break up on Alexis C at *4-3

In the Non-Brit match on court, Pete Bothwell is a set up against Bauvy of France.

Play has resumed, but on just three courts at the moment. I assume these are likely indoor courts.
