The other MD wild card has gone to Brandon Murphy

 Excellent !

I saw his name in the entry list, but not it qualis, but didn't dare to hope that 'little fave' (one of quite a few, it's true) had a main draw wildcard.

There are four QR2 matches that didn't get played today and have been rolled over to tomorrow.

Already four guaranteed British qualifiers though. And the possibility of all eight!

Add: I'm going for 7, though - optimistic but completely doable.

Very nice win by James M.

We're now back on for 8 out of 8

Nice win for Sean H too, who came up when Josh G, I seem to remember, was talking about the really poor detection system of the LTA. Sean, who barely did any junior events and wasn't really flagged up, easily beat Max Stewart, only a couple of months younger, who has had a large amount of LTA help, and been one on their 'espoir' list.

Indeed, I'd just been going to post about James having the toughest looking task against the 3 remaining peskies. Well done him. So it's down to you, Mr Whitehouse.

Yes, when I thought of 7 out of 8, it was James M that I thought might be the weak link (sorry, James !). Although I seem to remember that he had a couple of decent scores in ITFs recently....

Yes, well done to Sean, though he must have been pretty strong favourite whoever is on what list.

I indeed do recall Josh being quite favourable towards Sean and some other players when Sean in particular got some stick for losing to Josh at British Tour and Josh was prompted to come on and post very interestingly.

Not sure about Sean being favourite. Or maybe he was but he shouldn't have been really. Max Stewart has been one of the LTA's picks for quite a while, was at an academy in Spain, top coaching, went to foreign tournaments etc. etc. And only a few months younger. You'd have thought, then, that the LTA's selection process would carry quite a lot of weight. (Although - and it's just an opinion, worth very little - I was disappointed with Max's level when I saw him at Roehampton and didn't quite understand). Think he's had some injuries, but then, unfortunately that applies to nearly all of them. Wish him all the best in the US at college, of course, it'll be a great experience, both for tennis and life, and expect him to do well.

Someone said that Sean was a bit stocky and that impacted him. That might be a youth thing though. And, yes, Josh's posts were very interesting.

As you say, c'mon Mark !!!

Well, I was spot on with 7 smile

But would rather there had been eight cry

Only Evan and Tommy to go.

However, great to see a home event produce so many qualifiers - just as it should be.
