Shame but a creditable performance against a strong opponent. Naomi has the chance to move up in the rankings with some good performances in the next couple of months as she is not defending much at the moment, this is an indication of some decent form even if a win would have been preferable.

Naomi fought hard in the 2nd set but at the start and the end of the contest she was terrible even by her standards.

Coach with beard came on for a chat. Don't know who he is. 

Return nowhere near good enough at this level. 2nd serve return was embarrassing today. 10 unreturned 2nd serves; none of which were slightly unfortunate, just missed the line, as happened a few times in her first round match.

There was a spell during which she won a lot of points with good volleys but at other times, she seemed to waste obvious chances to come to the net, while on occasion she moved forward into trouble. By the third set, Timea was picking her off at the net rather too often. A shocking volley unforced error and an easy smash that landed in the net, were errors at crucial moments that she simply couldn't afford. 

Aggressive backhand produced lots of super shots, defensive backhand tons of unforced errors. Touch deserted her on drop shots and lobs. Forehand erratic. Serve not quite good enough in helpful conditions.

Thanks kundalini its good to have the report, even if its contents are too predictable and rather sad. Naomi's game is going nowhere at the moment, not if she can't even sort basic weaknesses out.
