Question regarding Ryan Peniston - he still seems to be on the roster for Memphis, but is still playing in Europe. Anyone know if he has taken a semester off to play pro?

I'm assuming that to be the case with Ryan, but in reality no idea.

Two quick thoughts: firstly, that's an excellent win from Josh Goodger (a name I don't recall at all). Secondly, I took a look at both the women's and the men's qualifying draw. The men's seemed relatively straightforward. But the women's included a large number of players I would have assumed would have been direct entrants, especially from some of the big teams (eg Jessie Aney from the University of North Carolina, who finished last year ranked 39 in singles and 5 in doubles). The O, is the issue that each team can only have a set number of direct entrants, so that for the teams with enormous strength in depth, some of their players wind up in qualifying?

I have never seen Josh G play but I too thought that was an impressive win.  He has a solid but not spectacular record in G4 and G5 ITFs and played a number of 15Ks this summer, winning several matches in qualies.

There is a regional element to the selections for the All Americans.  All returning All-Americans get in along with the highest ranked singles / dubs pair from each of the 12 regions.  Then I think they go down the national rankings although they may just vote on it.
