The list is brilliant, The O. But I feel a bit badly - I didn't mean it to have to be so detailed and thorough - it's like a whole load of work I dumped on you - didn't mean it like that ! A simple name list would be OK too, like the list of current US college players.
But it's very interesting to read, and useful going forward - many thanks.
I'd forgotten quite what a comprehensive series of events we used to have in Britain. Most of those with titles finished college, came back and spent summer onwards competing in the UK and were of a level where they were almost bound to pick up some points somewhere and then with a ranking sailed off into the great wide tennis world the following year. Those were the days.......
Oh, yes, The O, as Indy says, it's brilliantly readable. Just very detailed and, again as he says, I didn't want you to think of it as an albatross round your neck.....
Honestly, I'm hugely grateful however it comes - the full detail is great but just the number of titles is fine by me too - it gives a good indication of the level they've achieved.
You could even just put in their highest ATP or WTA ranking instead if that were easier - it's true that some players get high up without actually winning titles.
I love to see the US college high ranking - it's interesting to see the highest some of our current players got as students. And not something I remember well.
But, please, whatever is the easiest or you think best.
Thanks !!!!
Was finding it quite interesting seeing where those who have gone pro won their titles and who with etc, and then I got to Ken Skupski who has just won so many events that I changed my mind and am now just listing the number of titles of each type and the year.
O you have created a phenomenal archive of US College Tennis as it relates specifically to British Tennis. Congratulations over time as the threads accumulate year on year it build into a great piece of work. The virtual wisden of the British influence and impact on US College. Thank you

Stanford ladies just blanked UCSB (also ranked) our own Emily Arb dropping down to the number 4 slot (although there is nothing in it between her and junior Caroline Lampl with the return of Melissa Lord at no 2 a line up that as last year has the potential to contend nationally. Struggled a bit with Lord out of the line up but now arguably stronger than last year with Michaela Gordon at No1 and Shin at 5 both freshman forcing themselves into the line up.
Ricky Hernandez Tong does it again ie. is Mountain West player of the week for the second time this year after beating Arizona States Ben Hannestad (#40 nationally) in straight sets (6-1, 6-4) to prevent a Lobos whitewash

I was reading some old tennis books I have over the weekend and one mentioned John sadri. I remembered him from being an Australian open runner up on grass to villas in 1979 and Wimbledon QF around same time. But seems his personal biggest achievement was playing the ncaa event at Athens, Georgia in the mid to late 70's, apparently played in front of over 3000 fans he won 3 7-6 sets to nil. Does Oakland or anyone recall him and that event and do they still play best of 5 sets at the ncaa finals? I had thought he had won the ncaa championship but wiki suggests otherwise.

I am really sorry he predates my interest in college sports, but the NCAA singles is still played in Athens and they play best of 3 sets. The O is better qualified than me and may know a bit about John Sadri who played for NC State however there is some very enjoyable footage on Utube of him playing John McEnroe!! In the final of the 1978 NCAA and telling the story of his journey to the final. Well worth a look it will make you smile

Thats the one! I remembered it was Mac he lost to, I think that was 7-6 7-6 7-6 or something v close like and the story sounds familiar!
I think this is the video " The greatest match ever played" some said re Mac v Sadri - hard to tell from this but fun at least and it was the match I recall reading about
