Curtis qualifies:

FQR:  (qWC) Curtis Clarke UNR defeated (qWC) Manuel Almeida (POR) UNR by 2 & 0

It could easily have been 0 & 0!

Hammered in 36 minutes. That's got to hurt

Happily Jay's won his first set 6-2, but has been broken in the first game of the second set.

This is the first Pro Circuit event the Spaniard has played in since 2009 but he is keeping his hand in - he is the current men's 40 & over no. 1 and won the world 'young seniors' (=35-50) world championship early this year, beating GB's Luke Milligan (also an ex-top 300 player, of course) in the final. He was playing Futures/Satellites 5 years before Jay was born.

I have carefully studied the stats, head to heads, current form and style of each player. That has brought me to stick my neck out and predict a win for Jay.

QF:  (1) Jay Clarke WR 312 vs Sergi Pérez (ESP) WR 1190 (= CH)

The Spaniard saw off his compatriot, Jordi Samper, the seventh seed, by 4 & 2 in his second round match.

Perez was described as the only remaining #NextGen player left in the event, and obviously he got a good result against the #7 seed in the last round. Does anyone know what exactly a #NextGen player is, I think Jay was described similarly at some point?

Is it an official status and does it qualify the player for anything in particular? How does a young player become one? And when do you stop being one? Would be grateful to know.

Not sure about NextGen players but I'm an expert in what a Challenger player is

That was a slight disappointment. When I saw there was a reply, I thought 'Great, I knew someone would have an answer- that was quick'.

I've obviously missed the joke, so go on, what is a challenger player, other than a player who plays in Challengers?
