Good news not only that we have three in the boys' draw - but that all of them have at least one more year of junior eligibility. Pity about Ms Collins, but she too has other chances.

What a great opportunity for all three

Yes good to see with as said Aidan, George and Jack all having at least another year of junior eligibility ( though maybe Aidan at least will fancy some more senior tournaments ). And along with Anton they represent the current cream, certainly as prospects, of our junior boys.

It looks as if it could be tough in seniors for our 1999 borns but hopefully one or two can make a decent transition and begin to push on again.

In the main draw, the British boys have drawn the 11th, 12th and 13th seeds.

George L is playing Kypson again. Kypson (ATP 920 or so, and JWR 19) is the American who beat him 8-6 in the third set at Wimbly Juniors and made the semis.

Jack D has Petr Korda's son, JWR 20 and ATP about 1376.

And Aidan has 11th seed, Crawford, JWR 16, CHJWR 9, who hasn't played ITF (adult or juniors) since Junior Wimbly so might have be returning from some slight injury.

Emily Appleton has Volynets, an Amercian youngster (born 31 Dec. 2001) wildcard.

It is very exciting that George as a 2001 pushed Kypson a very solid if not elite 1999 such a good game on the grass.

Kypson won the USTA Nationals over the summer, which gained him a wildcard into the US Open main draw (lost in 3 but one set was a long tiebreak). Although not playing any ITFs Oliver Crawford took part in the nationals, reaching singles last 16 (they have a 128 draw!) and doubles final. Emily is the only one to play today (second up)

Emily loses the first set 6-4 (one break in the seventh game) to the aptly named American

May the American net many volleys.

The stats show Katie with 0/0 on net points (though that may well be because that stat wasn't measured in this match). Anyway the second set went the same way so 6-4 6-4 to the American

A pity - but the US wildcards in the USO seem to be like the French WCs at Roland Garros - often very dangerous, because they're people who don't play very much in ITFs so don't have a ranking but are actually very good. I remember looking at the USO juniors draws in 2010 and wondering who on earth the strange WC was who kept beating players that were familiar from ITFs - it was Jack Sock, who won the tournament.

Not great draws for the boys either, across the board, though none of them unwinnable. Good luck to all.

Jack Draper lost 2-6 2-6

Aidan was 0-5 down in the third set but has now won 3 games on the bounce to make it *3-5
