Week 35 - Italy F27 ($15,000) - Piombino (hard)

Oh, excellent! Then by my personal decree, this is an official comeback!

Steven retweeted an article by an Italian with Oli(link below). Doesn't look like its necessarily a comeback. Just he's playing some tennis again and enjoying it. I guess it might be one of those things if he manages to win a few tournaments he might try a few more and before he knows it his ranking might be reasonable.

Thanks, Steven and Madadman, for that link.

One can't help but feel happy for him: he seems in a much better place, whatever happens with this, or any, match.

Cheers and many thanks, Madaman, that's a very interesting article.

(Can't help feeling that Oli's decisions will be very much influenced by his wife and her understanding of the circuit. Whatever happens, as Spec says, he sounds in a far better, happier and more stable place - and he's still so young - it's very good to see - and the possibilities are there.....).

QF: (Q) Oli Golding UNR def. (WC) Riccardo Ghedin (ITA) UNR (CH 222 Aug 2009 - he's now 31) 6-4 7-6(6)

That's a very good win, Ghedin is no muppet. And another victory to string together with those of this week, and last week in France.

6 ranking points for a SF right? 10 for a finalist and 18 if you win a 15k?

Do Special Exempts work from $15ks to to 25k's? Also do you have to be in the initial qualifying list? I see that Oli is in the Alts list for a 25k in France next week.

No - SE's can only be granted for tournaments of a similar status
