Wow a fantastic win for Cam against Bublik. 6-2 6-2. Sweet revenge indeed smilesmile

Revenge ?  Have they played each other before ? No head to head showing on the ITF site.

Bublik beat Liam in the Aptos final but I don't remember him playing Cam.

Yeah it's too late for my brain to think straight... Guess Cam is gaining revenge on behalf of Liam then as I'm certainly confusing the two!

I can live with that smile

Plays Gabashvili (RUS) or Bangoura (USA) in QR2 - currently playing.

Gutted for Brydan.

Great win for Cam but Bublik strikes me as the sort of player of which you don't know what your going to get.

Superb for Cam, superb.

Ah, these heady times of Brits in Challenger finals.

QR2:  Cam Norrie WR 226 vs Sekou Bangoura (USA) WR 367 (CH = 213 last October)

Chiudinelli or Soeda (q22) in the FQR, if he wins.

Can't really ask for a better second round draw at a slam...

Great win by Cam- but yes, Bulbik strikes me as volatile player, could probably beat anyone on his day, but also lose to anyone. If he gets there, I'd fancy Cam against Chio or Soeda. Soeda is basically the Taro Daniel of the previous generation, the definition of a challenger player.

I have kind of gathered that folk's definitions of a challenger player rather vary

But Vandy's is consistent with reality, after all GS qualifying is the ultimate challenger tournament!

Not those folks that think the definition of a Challenger player is anyone not seeded at a slam.

 Roughly speaking that's fairly accurate.

Solved it! all tournaments are challenger tournaments because by definition the majority of players in them are outside the worlds top 32 and therefore challenger players.

Now because the definition of a challenger player is someone who plays in a challenger that makes even the top 32 challenger players. The tour does not exist.

Jenius! Free speech and rational argument wins the day, we definitely need more Scottish MP's in Westminster, Jaggy at last unearthed as the board member elected as an MP this spring!

The tour still exists Oakland don't worry about that. Perhaps the ability of some posters to spot potential Slam winners is lost though. And perhaps some miss the point hiding behind stoic Tory middle class spectacles and besmirk people making a genuine point as they wish to remain in their little clique private members clubs.

I ll speak up for the little man in the meantime

Strong and stable for the rest of you of course....

Vote Jaggy next spring.
