Week 34 - ITF ($60K) - Artvin, Turkey, Hard

QR1: MURRAY, Samantha (GBR) 572 CH:165 Sept 13 vs GABUEVA, Angelina (RUS) 930 CH:423 June 13

QR1: NJOZE, Mirabelle (GBR) 830 CH:599 June 16 vs TAKAHATA, Kotomi (JPN) 943 CH:562 Oct 10

Both Sam and her QR1 opponent had their best days in 2013....

A good win here for Sam, but Mirabelle sadly seems well on her way to her more expected loss...

QR1: MURRAY, Samantha (GBR) 572 CH:165 Sept 13 beat GABUEVA, Angelina (RUS) 930 CH:423 June 13 6-4 7-5

Mirabelle is 1-6 0-3 down, sadly no end in sight to her rather miserable time at the moment on court.

Q2: MURRAY, Samantha (GBR) 572 lost to KEMPEN, Magali (BEL) [q7] 547 6-0 6-2

That's a comprehensive loss :(

From the stats, it seems that Sam had a good play on Kempen's serve (7 break points although none converted, which obviously is not good). However, the main issue seems to have been Sam's serve. Low first serve percentage, high number of doubles faults..... comprehensive....

Oh, certainly didn't see that coming, Sam has seemed to be on the rise again.

Hope just more a bad serve day, a very good day for her opponent, a comprehensive blip !

Harriet is also in the doubles playing with Ayla, her first round singles opponent. They are up against the #2 seeds in the first round unfortunately. Tara is again this week not in the doubles.

Here's hoping for some good results. Can't believe how much Tara has dropped. Can't sustain her good play/ranking.

She may be having health issues. Or motivation issues. She didnt' look the peak of fitness and conditioning when i saw her on livestream, 2 or so months ago.

I did say "scheduled".

Harriet and Tara are still to get underway with the matches before them weather "interrupted".

Valeria Savinykh just beat the top seed Shapatava.
Harriet's match should be starting soon.
