Despite Liams strategy of targeting Tour level events, hes not actually played in a few weeks despite entering. And similarly for next 3 weeks, hes not looking likely to make any main or qualies draws. Worried he could get to RG qualies under cooked?

Yes, he apparently felt that he wasn't making as much ranking progress as he would have liked by 'just' doing well in challengers. But you make zero progress not playing at all plus, as you say, lose match sharpness.
In truth, yes he would no doubt have been ranked a bit higher without the element of covid rankings protection. But that will shake out in time, and he has still at least been able to hit new CHs.
I'm not going to lie I'm not convinced that hawkeye is entirely accurate. There was atleast 1 challenge last week where all of us sitting right on that line swore it was out and hawkeye had it on the line, not just a clip of the line but on the line. It made all of us consider whether it was that accurate, I'm not sure 5 people and the line judge could be that wrong
That makes you ask if they selected the correct clip, or if the umpire requested the right one.
That is a known issue. It's not foolproof and the poor line judge is th eone that looks like an incompetent idiot. I have to say that nearly all the challenges on the courts I watched did go in the LJ's favour and it was nice to see some umpires give them a 'good job' nod

Yes, the tech specs I've seen have said that it's almost certainly not 100% accurate but that's not the point, the point is that it's 100% neutral, consistent and fair.
So, yep, you and everyone round you were probably right. As Liam might have been on occasion.

But it avoids argument
I'm fine with the not 100% accurate. I'm not fine with the attitude of some of the players towards the line judges when the player has been ' proved' right. The players must know that it's not always right. Medvedev and Kyrgios in particular were not pleasant towards the LJ
The last point was just SO good - you could really feel the absolute desire in Liam, to get across the net, at full stretch and get that ball in the air.
