Mirabelle served for the match at 5-4 but was broken. However, she broke straight back and then successfully served it out. Good to see her tough that one out and get the win.
Good to see. I didn't actually think it was that tough a draw, however still feared that it might be relatively too tough for Mirabelle. Looks a decent fighting win.
Well, great for Mirabelle too. Seems like the first time in a while that she has beaten someone that is ranked anywhere near her. Next match is potentially against the 4th seed and therefore likely to be much tougher.

This result is actually an improvement for Mirabelle. Her serving stats were much better, and to lost by only 1 break in each set against a much higher ranked player in a match that lasted 1hr 50 mins, is actually the best result she's had in months against someone who is higher or even ranked near her. Would be great if this tournament was a turning point, but one swallow does not a summer make, as they say (or used to).
