Raining hard in Woking - doesn't look if there will be any further play today

Seems they have moved the doubles QF indoors, all starting at 5pm on courts NTC3,4,5 & 6

Yes I thought £2.500 sounded high too, but even a lower figure of £1,000 per tournament still makes the junior and pro circuits an impossible dream for many

It's true. Tennis is not a meitocracy.

Alicia on court, warming up - live stream available.

My stream is dodgy but it's a pretty poor match from what I can see - Alicia hitting too many nasty double faults, a bit all over the place, and only taking 1 break point out of 6 so far (against a player with a nor very scary serve).

The Italian is up 6-2, 4-1, and rightly so.

Well, I'd hoped for a closer score but Alicia loses 6-2 6-1

And Sam instantly lost her break too

:(

Every time Sam had a sniff at winning the 2nd set she promptly lost her serve again. Each player won 4 BPs in the set, and after losing serve for the 4th time to go into the TB, Sam then lost that too. 6-2 7-7(5) altogether, it should have gone to a 3rd set.

Well what a great event. Nobody through to the QF.

I'm afraid that always looked likely - and next week at Chiswick looks even tougher.

Never know, next week's another week and we often see for whatever reasons big variations one week to the next.

At least we've got four players in as of right at Chiswick, as opposed to only two here.

And when is the drop-out cut-off time? I know it's Thursday but is it evening?

Well I suppose that the next cut-off time is the qualifying sign-in deadline at 6pm on Saturday. I'm not aware of another cut-off between the withdrawal date (long gone) and sign-in.
And will Katy return from the US to play ?
