Yes the higher you go actually the more sense it is to play the lower percentage shot. For the higher percentage of the time that higher ranked player will deal extremely effectively with that lower percentage shot.

Or something like that

And Freya loses again, after one competitive set 7-6 6-1 cry

Edit - Score - I'm sure this keyboard has moveable keys

The first set was so competitive they couldn't be separated

Seriously I do hope that in general she turns things back around sooner rather than later.

Freya and Gabi have given a W/O in the doubles.

With Gabi currently playing and leading her singles *5-3 in the first set, I would guess that it's a Freya issue

This is the exact wording I was going to use. Be afraid!

There was an MTO about 3/4 of the way through the first set of Freya's match. Presumably for Freya..... cry

Quite a volte-face in Maia's match, as she loses 6-1 1-6 0-6

Gabi looks like likely to suffer a similar fate, 6-3 1-6 *3-5

Not a great day for the GB girls

Beth and Olivia lost 11-9 in the MTB as well

Sam and Ana won their doubles (MTB)to brighten up the day, but Holly and Emma lost in MTB, Alicia and Eva lost 1&1, Freya and Gabi scratched and Emily and Jodie got a walkover.
So just Sam+ and Emilie/Jodie through to the QF

A really close match and a great effort from Beth/Olivia who were taking on the No 2 seeds (whose combined rankings are nearly 500 above them). From watching the match it was impossible to say who looked like the No 2 seeds!

Looks like a late start at Woking. Players out on court 1 warming up, but no officials. Both Sam and Alicia are scheduled for court 3 though, which isn't streamed.

Crazy to geo-block the streaming. Batsh*t mental to then schedule the matches so that the UK players are on unstreamed courts.

How many Russian or Dutch tennis fans are currently in the UK, and able to watch Melnikova (RUS) play Kerkhove (NED)?
