Well, some folk were interested to see how Scott and Jonny would do in doubles challengers. Somehow I don't think they are just here for the singles.

Though all the best to the guys in both.

Jonny captures the second set by the same score to take the match into a decider.

Bob was right:

QR1:  Jonny O'Mara WR 582 defeated (q4) Rémi Boutillier (FRA) WR 436 by 3-6 6-3 6-3 (two service breaks in that third set!)  biggrin

and would appear to have a decentish chance of progressing:

QR2:  Jonny O'Mara WR 582 vs José Francisco Vidal (ESP) WR 684 (CH = 632 in March)

Well played Jonny. No points for that though. Two more wins for any points or money. Will Jonny do it ?

The bigger question is this. My house to Segovia is 5 hours each way. Will Jonny make it worth my while if I go for it tomorrow ? Will the scheduler be kind and not put it on too early or too late ? I am not able to stay any longer as I have work commitments on Monday and I am morphing back into "Bob in Brazil" on Thursday.

What do you all think ? Should I go for it ?

Well, he is playing a Spaniard, Bob, though not exactly one who's a household name (albeit arguably not even in Spain!), but I'd say the chances of a civilised starting time were reasonable...  How rash are you feeling?

No where near as much traffic on the motorways here as in the UK so driving is much easier.  having said that, this is the time of year when all the "Madrileńos" head down from Madrid to the coast for the summer, so the traffic on the way back might be an issue.

Yes, I understand Bob. I have driven quite a bit in Spain although not for a few years now - mainly in Andalucia, and covered Toledo - Marbella NS and Trafalgar to Murcia EW. The roads were pretty quiet, but lots of improvements going on.

And James lost 6-1 6-4. Jonny came back to win as above

Jonny's match is scheduled for not before 13.30.  Are you going to risk it, Bob?

Sorry Jonny O, but decided against the drive today. Something to do with being up until 3.30am watching Kyle's semi final in Atlanta. No way I could get up early enough after that to make the journey.
