An interesting development in the doubles draw:

Emily W-S' old friend, Nao, has been in the singles final in Nanchang this morning, so she'll have a long trip before this match.

Heather is a really slow starter to a tournament and nearly always struggles in the opening match. Very much a confidence player with a win under her belt.

Heather wins 6-3 7-6(7)

Don't know when the 3 breaks apiece occurred during the second set but she was 6-1* up in the TB and the little devil managed not to convert 6 MPs in all in that TB.

She's into the main draw then

Nervy end by the look of it. It was 6-1 in the tie-break at one point - and ended up 9-7
