Not me.

No, I prefer having the singles and doubles threads for the same tournament under the same thread.. it is the same tournament after all. For the women it would be a complete waste of time separating them; there are precious few women able to get into tournaments at all at the moment. For the men, SC does title the thread doubles if there are no GB singles entrants, and I think that's enough. Anyone who is really allergic to doubles only needs to click the tournament thread once to see there are no more singles entrants and they don't need to return there thereafter. However my feeling is the allergy is comparatively rare and restricted mainly to one or two individuals...

I find it fine.  I like dubs but would find it a faff to look at the singles results for a tournament in one thread and then have to go to another to find the dubs.  Obviously I am more interested in some ITF level players than others (mainly those I have seen or met) and don't find it at all difficult to skim over the posts or threads which don't relate to them.  I can't imagine it is much more difficult for others to skim over dubs or posts relating to college players.

It's a really interesting topic. If there was an easy way, then I would be in favour of a separate doubles section, like there is on tennisforum and menstennisforum as I do kind of see it as a different sport, but as others have pointed out, it isn't quite as simple for a number of valid reasons.

Plus, like FW, I am also a keen non GB singles poster and enjoy doing that, so happy enough if the doubles stuff remains as it is. smile

I do appreciate SC's double's title references so hopefully that at least continues going forward.

I agree with these two points, and do find it hard to find the singles matches I'm looking for discussion on in the midst of dubs stuff on the same thread especially if the dubs players are doing better than the singles players in a particular tournament, or are dubs players who have entered the singles that tournie, just because they could, and so there isn't 'doubles' in the thread title.

Saying that I'm happy to go with majority and appreciate the info I can get on this forum in it's present format.

One thing I would say is that say you have an ITF with just one or two players in each of singles and doubles it just seems too much to me to have two separate threads. But if we go down that road I think we have to do it for all tournaments or stay as we are and highlight doubles only threads ( I take it that there is no push to highlight singles only threads ).

Even if players go deeper ( and you don't know at the start ), say with Bryan's two title runs this week, then to me a joint run story can sort of hang better all together though yes I am interested in doubles.

I think it looks like we may have to remain as we are, we can't really bespoke to what seems a minority wanting something different, especially with some extra work needed by initial draw posters such as SC and Peter.

But still this thread remains for any calls otherwise. Just for now the case is not there.
