Although the points won difference was smaller in the second set, Ed only won two points against serve in the whole set. I think it's pretty remarkable that he lost that match in a tie break and a single break of serve, given the stats! Shame Ed couldn't progress further but hopefully he can take heart from the fight he put up.
Superb but a bit frustrating at the end as,on Camerons' third match point ,the live link went down and came back on thirty seconds later with the match over. Well done to Cam though.
And Cam must be into US Open qualifying list contention. With 29 points he is up level with Brydan on 214 points for this coming Monday ( the rankings the US Open qualifying list will be based on ). 214 points is currently showing as live rankings 234 ( Brydan ), 235 and 236. Cam to add for 237 as well ( not sure where specifically he would currently place ).
Looking at MTF last year's initial qualifying cut was WR 230 but 15 alts later it went out to WR 249.
Oh, just go and win at least your SF ( which would basically make sure ), Cam !
Edit : Cam's points have been updated on live rankings and he is shown as live ranking 234, ie ahead of Brydan as first of the current four on 214 points.

Fantastic progress, Blaz Rola is an experienced player who not long ago was on the cusp of progression to the ATP tour, exactly the type of player Cam needs to consistently step over to get to the next level, fingers crossed for the SF
