Harriet is first up on centre court at 5pm local time; coverage on BT Sport2 starts at 10am BST.
Live rankings have Harriet and Gabi both on 149 points at world #307 and #308 respectively; here's hoping they can both push past their CHs and on towards the top 200 over the weeks ahead :)
It's good for Harriet to test herself in this way, but I'm glad she's dropping back to 25ks for Woking & Chiswick - she's never won one and has no singles titles since 2014, so a 25k title seems like a good next step for her.
This could be a potentially momentous match for this generation of players. None of Harriet's peer group has ever come through WTA qualifying to reach the main draw: Dunne, Boulter, Christie, Taylor, Swan - none of them have managed it yet. But, if Harriet can do it here, and break the mould, surely the others will believe that this is within their compass too.
Come on Harriet!!!
Didn't Katy D qualify for Edgbaston a few years ago? I remember watching in person when she lost to Camila Giorgi on a retirement in R1.
