Hmm not so good to see Freya struggling so much. Hope she can find some more inspiration soon, this has not been a good year for her to date, and it's not really clear why she has gone off the boil so much
She has struggled since the long first round match in Wimbledon qualifying it seemed to suck the life out of her
Absolutely.
Although she did have a back injury then so you'd have thought that she could have 'blamed' the loss on the back (even if not the whole picture) and moved on.
Certainly when I saw her at Wimbly qualis, she was playing quite poorly, all rather leaden and with no spark. And yet she was smiling and laughing with friends a very short time after - which is good, in a way, but.....
Do so hope she manages to come through this patch.
(And just a little bit of me is thrilled for Eva - she's a quasi-Brit and I wish her well).
#1 seeds in the doubles, too, and much the same result, as Freya, & her Romanian partner Ana, narrowly lost to a pair a combined 1200 places below them, 4-6 6-3 [9-11]
