Despite not playing this week, Billy is up to 104 in the live rankings and just 34 points from the Top 100.
Getting closer. Billy did of course set out to be playing this week but lost in ATP Wahington 500 QR1 to Paul so his ranking points total remains at 552.
Goodness. Was that this week ? I am so losing track of time.
As it currently stands he needs an extra roughly 50 points to make the top 100. So between now and the end of November 223 points roughly to do it. Obviously if he does well in August and September there is a good chance he could debut in the top 100 in the next two months needing roughly 82 points to do so.
Don't look now, but with all the points other players will be dropping this week, Billy is just 8 (yes - eight) points from the Top 100 in the live rankings.

That's very exciting and a fitting reward hopefully for all his hard work and sacrifices (as well as a fair dollop of natural ability!)
Great to see Billy in the Davis Cup squad. Super reward for him
Re that top 100 he remains live ranked 101 for 09/09 on 552 points, with looking at worst he will be WR 102.
Has no counting points to drop until 14/10 when he is due to drop a total of 55 points ( net 35 ) from 2 events last year. So a couple of weeks after the Davis Cup week to potentially add ranking points ( with the Shanghai Mastwrs on, there is not due to be a 07/10 update ).

Alex Hunt. He is a player from New Zealand and despite missing a limb( left arm lower) he managed to get himself an atp ranking In the past. Think Billy played some doubles with him in the past in Thailand or somewher.

Cool, a new name to me but interesting back ground. Is he coaching now?
I havent looked further afield, but Billys 5 week forecast shows he isnt losing any points over that time; of the players above him up to 100 and slightly above, all lose points and 5 lose enough points that , at the 5 week point, Billy is ahead of them in the 5 week forecast. There appears to be a real window for Billy to push through that 100 barrier if he can keep steady and play well.
As well as IW and Miami qualies, he is entered in the Cap Cana Challenger that sits in between - Ive not checked, presumably that is a CH 175 as it has a very high entry level.
