Baby steps indeed, hitting the ball very gently/ gingerly at this point. This must have been her second op, as her original one was in Nov last year. Wishing her well with her ongoing recovery.
Excellent news. Mandy is entered for the Germany 25K in the week of 20th August, albeit down at 189th in the alt list, and Rotterdam 15K where she is 26th alt.
Edit: I missed the Swiss 15K where she is 4th alt

Good news indeed. No chance of getting in to the one in Germany, as most of the top entrants are down as priority one, but Rotterdam looks promising - there will be a lot of withdrawals from there I expect.

In fact Braunschweig is now her only entry for this week, as Mandy has wd from the 2 15ks. That can be interpreted in different ways in respect of her readiness for returning, but if she says in the list I would have thought she may find her way into qualifying.
Amanda will have a rare chance to play for her home territory on home soil in July when she represents Team Gibraltar in the Natwest International Island Games between 6 and 12 July.
https://www.reachextra.com/gibraltar-island-games-2019-tennis/ Never short of determination, she's bounced back, looking stronger than ever and in the form of her life... so what can we expect from her at the Games? "Gold - we're hoping she can take us all the way" Team Manager Jeremy Poggio says with a cautious undertone.
Just to note Amanda is into the gold medal match at the island games. As top seed she has yet to be challenged (and hasnt dropped a game yet), though I dont recognise any of the names of her opponents so that perhaps isnt a shock. Shes also in the womens doubles final and has already won gold in the womens team event. It seems she opted not to compete in the mixed doubles which is fair enough.
Amanda kept her unblemished record defeating Tzvetelina Hevren of Gotland in the final 6-0 6-0 to win gold. Onwards to the 25k in Imola I guess but no doubt a special moment witnessed by friends and family.
I should have known some people on here would already be onto this before I tweeted it
Even the player she beat in the final (the no. 3 seed) doesn't seem to have a record on ITF but I think a 48-game winning streak is pretty impressive whatever the opposition (unless that opposition is me, in which case 8 golden sets would be more like it LOL) It must be all too easy to lose one game in 48.
Congrats @amanda_carreras on a sweep of 3 gold medals for Gibraltar at the International Island Games. She won 48 straight games to take singles gold, double bagelling players from Jersey, Guernsey, Menorca & Gotland As @andyroddick once said to Federer, "Keep it social!" https://t.co/fvJHgaDsEU
Edit: I was hoping that embedding the tweets would show the associated pics too but it looks like you'll have to click the links to get those, unfortunately.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Just to note that Amanda Carreras is playing in the UTR Pro tennis tournament in France today
(this is a double post - it's on the general tennis chat one too but I know we have some ardent women's tennis followers so thought it worth doubling up)
(PS Mods - there are two individual threads for Mandy - maybe we could amalgamate them?)
In the search function at the top of the page, you can put in a players name and if they are playing, due to play or played it will call up where. It seems a really good tool and is ahead of most of the tournie websites in terms of updates etc
Looks like she also pushed the young Russian ranked 101 in the world as well - losing 6-4 7-5 to Gracheva - suggests shes in decent form and raring to go when the itf tour resumes.
