Jodie in the crowd at Murrayfield as boyfriend Ben White comes on as a substitute for his first Scotish cap, and crosses the line for his first try. Her Instagram caption - "OH MY GODDDD. CRYINGGG"
Didn't even know he was Scottish.
Och, we don't bother about minor details like that
Apparently granny and grandpa came from the right place.
Just a little shout-out to Jodie who made the semi-finals of the ITF 100k at Surbiton, playing some lovely relaxed and stylish tennis. In her own words, she felt confident and free, and it showed.
Thanks to that, as of 6th June 2022, she is now at WR 235 (+25), getting back closer to her CH of 204 (and also +78 to 417 in doubles too)
ADD: 13th June 2022 - now ranked 216 in singles

I see this post from CD was as recent as June last year. It was positive at the time yet overall at that stage Jodie still had never entered the top 200.
As of today, she is WR 127, live ranked 122. Shows how she really progressed over the second half of the year, and a real pity that she is now going to miss an early chunk of the year when she would have relatively very little to defend from the opening months of last year.
Certainly the French Open MD direct entry looked a very realistic goal.
And our Jodie takes the title, wins another three setter, beats a top-100 player, the top seed, and will now close in nicely on the top-100, up to about 109 in live rankings
Showing at 105 on live rankings today. If she stays there next Monday can she get direct entry into the French Open?
She's in a fabulous position now to crack the top 100 and enter many main tour events.
Hope She's fit for RG. Will not anything to defend and could push her into top 100 with a couple of qualifying wins
I am afraid Jodie will have quite big points coming off when Roland Garros Q points add, since these Q points won't add until the Monday after RG, along with the MD points, ie. 12/06.
Jodie has a total of 80 ( net 76 ) grass court points from last year due off then, 50 from Surbiton W100 plus 30 from Nottingham WTA 250. So without adding anything she is projected to fall from 607 to 531 points. It's a kinda double whammy in grass court weeks coming off because Roland Garros ( and Wimbledon ) are a week later than last year so RG eats further into last year's grass court weeks.
So Jodie would actually need 110 points from RG qualification and a MD R1 win to make progress. Though she might well also add new grass court points ( from this year's Surbiton W100 ) during the second week of the RG MD to also add back in at 12/06.
Essentially adding all RG plus Surbition W100 points, and dropping 80 points.
