Week 29 - Ireland F1 ($25,000) - Dublin (carpet)

Ha, all the best to Julian.

OK, Jonathan Gray is the only GB top 27 player playing R1 who could spoil Steven's 10-0 stat. You just go and add to it, Jonny !

Barely out of the starting blocks today before "interrupted" and the weather forecast doesn't look great for the rest of today or the rest of the week.

 Indeed, indeed !

And, to order, Jonny has taken the first set 6-3 smile

(However, rather like Josh Rose and Rémi B yesterday, I think getting the second set - and potentially then the third - will look a far more tricky prospect......)

All singles seem to be canceled for the day.

(NB Jonny did us proud ! And proved me wrong And has nothing to do with the Irish thread either but has interloped quite nicely ....)

It's safest to record this now, given that the only Brit due to play R1 on Wednesday is Jonathan Gray, facing the 3rd seed, who was a double Brit-basher last week!

Don't forget Julian Cash in Sharm.  wink

Sorry, I should have made it clear that I meant Jonathan was the only player in the GB men's top 27 due to play R1 today. I was doing my best to write off his chances to give him the best possible chance of winning, obviously! wink

Has it been raining in Dublin today or have the scoring machines just gone on strike?

As you've probably seen by now, it has been raining. Neil P tweeted that he got on court for 3 points but that was all.

Not unsurprisingly, Jonny and Scott have won their QF, 6-1 6-4

They've got their SF later this evening, against Jebens/Pulgar Garcia, who put out the third seeds.

Congrats to Josef (and Osgar). That'll be a doubles ATP ranking for him

Dodridge and O'Hoisin have just taken the first set against Lloyd and Bothwell senior.

I see from the sites that they are both 'Wisconsin Badgers', at college together. So I guess they play together quite a lot.
Which must be nice, like home from home.

PS Thanks, steven, for all the advice about how to correctly spell his name - but some things are just going TOO far smile Even SC hasn't put those funny accents on (and I shamelessly ignore accents) - and what's a capital letter doing in the middle of the word anyway????

Lloyd and Pete Bothwell have fought back to win on an MTB.
