Steven is tweeting that Ryan won 7-5 7-6 and we all know he is more reliable than live scores.

ITF drawsheet now updated to show 7-5 7-6(6) to Ryan.

Meanwhile, Ben Jones looked like he was going to get his first point with a career best ranking scalp (he was a set and 5-2* up) but he's now *4-5 down in the 3rd, albeit still on serve, v Simon Carr (IRL) - there has just been a MTO ... and now it's 0-30

Ben's 16th ace makes it 15-30 and he eventually wins 3 points in a row but then Carr gets one back - deuce

Match point ... saved ... ad-in ... game 7-5 6-7(3) 5-5*

Edit: Ben eventually goes down 11-9 in the 3rd set tiebreak after 3 h 8 min

Since I know you're also interested (if that's the right word) in this kind of thing, Alex & Josh's next opponents seem to spell their surname Ó hOisín - I know Irish names can look weird but that's a new one on me. Seems to be correct though, e.g. www.independent.ie/sport/other-sports/tennis/hoisn-battles-back-for-indoor-glory-34327710.html and, independent of tennis news, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathal_%C3%93_hOis%C3%ADn

I'm also saying this to make it clear that it's not a typo on the top 25 table (where Osgar, whose nickname is surely "OOO!" (?), appears as the player Alex lost to in singles)!

It appears that the best thing the LTA could do to help British development is to pay for tournaments in Dublin, rather than the UK.

Looking forward to Sean Hodkin v Johnny O'Mara, Sean seems to be doing well after his defeat to Josh Godall a week or so ago. Johnny another good test for him

The men in the GB top 27 who are playing in singles main draws this week (2 went out in qualifying) are 10-0 in R1 so far this week , starting with Liam in Canada, ending with Aljaz in Croatia, with 2 Brits in Poland, Jay in Italy and 5 here in Ireland contributing to that streak. Even the GB no. 28 (Ali Gray) went out to a higher-ranked Brit (Neil), while the GB no. 29 (Tom) won too.

It's safest to record this now, given that the only Brit due to play R1 on Wednesday is Jonathan Gray, facing the 3rd seed, who was a double Brit-basher last week!

Good to see Ireland putting on tournaments. If I remember correctly, it was just one tournament for men and one year it got cancelled. There are now two men's and a women's tournament.
Good to see opportunities for GB men to play locally and it looks like they are taking advantage so far.
