RE: Week 29 - Ireland F1 ($25,000) - Dublin (carpet)

I caught a glimpse of the live score and stats for Jonny, the first 3 games took 30 minutes, had 52 points in it and 1 out of 13 break points taken.

real tough battle, looks like it got easier after that though.

Three British wins against foreign opponents, and just Josh Rose's loss against the fourth seed, makes that a very successful first lot of matches for the day.

With the Anglo-Irish tally now up to 11-0 (I think), the Irish must be wishing us further (and not for the first time.......)

Not sure, but posting the same thing three times makes it sound like a broken record biggrin

Having said that, we finally have a hold, by Ryan Storrie. The players seem so shocked by that they've had to take a toilet break.

Probably used to getting more expenses if doing things in triplicate

The mayhem is ongoing as Scott and Ryan reach 5-5 in the 2nd set. (Ryan won the 1st 7-5) The have now had 18 breaks of serve in 22 games. Are they serving underarm ? Or has Live scores got the service rotation back to front ?

Ryan and Scott now one set all.

With regard to the breaks of serve, my comments about live scores getting the serve back to front was meant as tongue in cheek, but having looked at the serve stats themselves, it may be an explanation. On 2nd serve, both players are winning approx 50% of points - roughly what you would expect. However on 1st serve, neither player is winning more than 25% of the points and that just doesn't seem right to me.

So I'm going to stick my neck out and say that I think breaks are holds and holds are breaks.

Given that the next match is seemingly in play on the same court, and that the gizmo has frozen in Storrie/Duncan at 7-5 5-7 1-0, my guess is that the match has actually finished.
But no idea who won because the gizmo seemed to cut in and out several times so, as Bob says, it can hardly be trusted.
But I've seen it do something similar when, in fact, there was a tie-break in the second set and the umpire hadn't pushed the right button so the gizmo went (incorrectly) into a third set. So, at a real push, Ryan in two?
