You'd think I'd have been alright, what with it still being on two hands....... :(
But the main draw has now come out, with surprisingly few all-Brit match-ups (don't ask me to work out the probabilities !!!! But there's 13 of them in total - I think - so it's got to have been reasonably high.....hasn't it?)
Ryan plays Scott and Ali G plays Neil P. But that's it.
And there's a couple of nice R1 draws for some of the other lower ranked guys.
Strange that Scott Clayton is playing doubles with Jonny as always, but doesn't appear to have entered the singles. I wonder if there is a fitness issue, or maybe it was just an administrative oversight.

Doubles specialist by the looks of it. Surprised they are still playing 15ks. Time to step up, but I guess Jonny has singles ambitions.

Qualifier Sean Hodkin was the first over the line, winning 6-2 6-3
Josh Paris followed quite quickly after, winning 7-6(5) 6-1 (despite being 1-5 down or so in the first set)
Jonny O'Mara is 6-3 *4-5
And Josh Rose won a great set, in a tie-break, against the fourth seed from France - currently 3-3 in the second - it's going to be a tight second set....

I'm a big fan of Jonny as everyone knows so I hope he can see it home. But I have also met Sam Bothwell a couple of times and would love to see him get his first ever ranking point.
A Josh Rose victory would be a big bonus but having seen him in Spain a few weeks back, it wouldn't come as a complete surprise.

And Jonny did get there, winning the second 7-5. But Bothwell the younger obviously put up a good fight.
My fears for Josh materialised rather - Rémi B is a seasoned player, ex-top 250, and pushed on to win the second set 6-3 and the frenchman is now *3-2 up in the second. Even if Josh doesn't managed to come through this (and he still might!), he's obviously playing some very good tennis - do you know what he's doing come September, Bob?
