What a fantastic day in Futures semi-finals so far today
I think this is the 3rd biggest GB singles points haul (53, unless I have miscounted) at a Futures event outside the UK since the new points system was established after Dublin 15K in 2015 (59) and Pozoblanco 15K+H in 2014 (55) - bit.ly/futhauls

That is Tom's third futures win and shows what a talent he is. If he could be persuaded to play regularly, who knows where he could end up in the rankings.

I agree. I've seen him play a couple of times at the British Tour event at Sutton and he's plays very well, good technique, he's been well taught, it's good to watch.
But I guess he was very successful as a junior and, again, couldn't quite make it happen as he wanted in adult tennis, although he has tried.
He's been playing quite a lot in France, though. I don't know if it's connected to coaching.....
He won a big money tournament at his French home club in January, beating Brechemier currently ranked 475. I liked the fact that the press report said that Tom had started timidly but managed to turn it round and win in three thanks to his 'solid temperament'.
He also played team tennis this May/June - winning 6 matches (although it was in the pre-nationals, I believe hence very easy matches by his standard).
I saw him win both UK finals and he seems to be playing a lot more this year. Ireland next week and then back to Belgium. I suspect money was the issue previously.
Brits continue to compete internationally, with Tom Farquharson taking the singles title and Scott Clayton and Jonny O'Hara clinching the doubles title at The Ireland F1 Futures.
Like the way they have given Jonny an Irish sounding name!!
