Week 29 - Egypt F21 ($15,000) - Sharm el-Sheik (hard)

Cash + beat the No 2 seeds, having beaten the No 3 seeds in the QF. The americans did better, they beat the top seeds, having previously beaten the No 4 seeds

Sorry, Addict, you'll have to do better than that.  I beat you to it on the previous page!  wink

Wow, that's a great week for our college boy. Well done !

His serving stats were great - 75% of all serves won, first and second - 10 aces, no DFs, and even managed two aces when serving for the match

Definitely a new CH and should be into the top 1000, I would think - not that that matters much.....

Great to see Julian doing so well, this is his level but he really needs to be going deep in or winning futures to be able to compete with and beat the better No 1's in the power conferences. It would be great to have another Brit right at the top of US College tennis. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and a top 10 finished next year.

His doubles partner Tyler Mercier is interesting, in stark contrast to most of the ex college players trying the tour out, Tyler played almost exclusively Division III tennis at Guildford College, strictly no sports scholarships, no additional tutoring a plain old student who played lots and lots of tennis whilst pursuing academic endeavours, towards the end I think he may have played Div 1 at Nebraska for half a term but cant be certain.

Yes, should be in the top 1000 now, all other things being equal - a small rise of about 800 places
