Great to see Julian doing so well, this is his level but he really needs to be going deep in or winning futures to be able to compete with and beat the better No 1's in the power conferences. It would be great to have another Brit right at the top of US College tennis. Fingers crossed for tomorrow and a top 10 finished next year.
His doubles partner Tyler Mercier is interesting, in stark contrast to most of the ex college players trying the tour out, Tyler played almost exclusively Division III tennis at Guildford College, strictly no sports scholarships, no additional tutoring a plain old student who played lots and lots of tennis whilst pursuing academic endeavours, towards the end I think he may have played Div 1 at Nebraska for half a term but cant be certain.
