The first two sets of her match against Gemma Heath at Roehampton is still one of my favourite all-Brit matches, and her victory over Liebens was just wonderful. Timing wasn't spot on, took a bit longer than I thought, but she's certainly now proved to be top 800 level, as said.
Wow, a fantastic win here for Alicia, she's looked very solid so far this tournament. Her 7 points so far should propel her into the low 800s now, a good 100 up on her previous CH. Whilst not played yet her final opponents will either by the Spanish #1 seed, who although now WR562 has a CH269, or a 22 year old Irish woman, Sineah Lohan (WR907), who I've never heard of before.
Sinead Lohan is actually the defending champion from last year. So she obviously likes it here.
She's is at college in the US so barely plays ITF tennis (seems to play a little in summer and that's it), so her ranking is obviously completely misleading.
I'd heard of Sinéad Lohan (and I do mean the tennis player, not the singer!) but hadn't realised she was the defending champion - thanks for that snippet! She did indeed take out the top seed to make the final.
Alicia has already secured a career high on Monday week in the low 800s, more than 100 places above her current CH

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Purely in the 'small world' category of posts, just to add that Sinead's brother (Morgan, just turned 19) is playing the qualis in Ireland this weekend, drawn against GB's Josh Rose.
Morgan is also going across the pond, this autumn, to a tennis scholarship at college over there, inspired by his sister's success.
I don't think Alicia could have wished for a better set of draws.
Took out the second seed in R2.
Who was reported to be injured. As Paulisi said fortunate draw to yield these results, but you can only beat what's in front of you so well done on getting to the final. Be interesting to see how close the final is based on her opponent having a false ranking.
