Yes, I haven't seen much of Rae (for the usual reason - no free, non-betting streaming of women's matches ... come on, WTA!) and I was very impressed. Thought Mr Skupski was excellent, too, though.
Was struck that Louis Cayer was sitting with Neal Skupski. Please, please could someone give the Skupskis a good chunk of time with him? A pair where together they reach the QFs in doubles, and Ken reaches the QF also in mixed really deserves a little more support and cultivation.
This is actually Ken's third Wimbledon QF - the first coming in the junior tournament in 2001 (he lost to Philipp Petzschner, having qualified and vamquished Robin Söderling along the way)

Every match I see with Rae in she plays superbly - why is she not ranked higher?!
I was thinking the same thing. The women were the best players today and Rae was solid throughout
Of course while you have a regular partner your ranking is really a ranking based on the overall partnership, how the two individuals come together.
But then since Joss and Anna went their separate ways, Anna has thrived in partnership with Nicole Melichar, so is hardly looking as if she was any weak link, and hence moved ahead in the rankings. Maybe the Jossanna partnership had got stale, there certainly appear to be two very good doubles players there. Hopefully Joss can also find a longer term regular good fitting partner. Laura and her were a good thought for the grass season but unless Laura's priorities markedly change ( and some have suggested maybe they should ) then that doesn't appear a longer term answer.
Re Joss's reactions at the net I didn't see today but recall that ridiculous shot she made in the Davis Cup ( or Fed Cup even ) in Romania which brought laughter and smiles all round.

Having watched Joss play alot of matches recently, she's definitely more injury free and in form right now, so I fancy she'll start to really climb the rankings after Wimby, assuming she gets a good partner fit. As for Ken he really enjoys playing mixed, and is exceptionally good at making his female partner feel comfortable, oh and is a half decent player as well, no sorry he's an exceptional player.
My mission for tomorrow, assuming not too much else gets in the way, is to finally brave the British (well, Scouse) 'pub' a few blocks away www.pennylanepub.com/ and try to convince them that they want to put Wimbledon on their screens because a Liverpool lad is playing on Centre Court!
If I succeed (which I might, given that there is unlikely to be any football or US sports on a midweek European afternoon / US morning), I might be able to see a bit of JoKo too but they don't open until 11 am EDT (4 pm in the UK) so hopefully the SFs won't be over too quickly!
So far, all I know about this place is that it's run by a former Liverpool youth team player www.boomermagazine.com/penny-lane-pub-beatle-connection/ and when an American noticed I was English and asked if I'd been there yet (and I said no), they warned me not to eat there because the food was rubbish LOL (though that may just be to US mid-Atlantic tastes!)

L16: (1) Jamie Murray & Martina Hingis (SUI) CR 3 (5+3) defeated (16) Roman Jebavy & Lucie Hradecka (CZE/CZE) CR 79 (64+15) by 3 & 4
Their quarter-final opponents could be Ken & Joss...
It seems the Swiss Miss was the one who suggested that she & Jamie play the mixed - snipped from today's Times:
Hingis feared Jamie snub
Martina Hingis revealed she was worried that Jamie Murray would reject her when she text [sic] him asking to be his doubles partner at Wimbledon. "There was a point where I asked for Jamie's number and texted him and I was a little bit scared that he would say no," the 36-year-old, who completed a career Grand Slam of mixed doubles titles in 2016, siad. "I knew he didn't play much mixed and playing three out of five is very demanding."
She was having a laugh with Stu saying that, surely?
Actually, it was in the round-up of short stories called "Game Set Match" produced by James Gheerbrant, not Stu, & I've no idea.
And today there's a proper interview with Hingis in T2 under the heading "I chose him. He's too nice to make the first move".
Jamie & Martina win 4 & 4 That was all over a bit too quickly, given that something came up to delay me leaving, though it looks I wouldn't have been able to see it anyway - I should have realised ESPN wouldn't put a GB/SUI v GB/GB match on their main channel(s) even if it was on Centre Court.

It is only when you live there that you realise from a televised sport perspective it is America first (understandably). Mixed doubles would sit way down the scheduling list behind the preliminary rounds of little league baseball from Florida.
