Their quarter-final opponents could be Ken & Joss...
It seems the Swiss Miss was the one who suggested that she & Jamie play the mixed - snippet from today's Times:

Martina Hingis revealed she was worried that Jamie Murray would reject her when she text [sic] him asking to be his doubles partner at Wimbledon. "There was a point where I asked for Jamie's number and texted him and I was a little bit scared that he would say no," the 36-year-old, who completed a career Grand Slam of mixed doubles titles in 2016, siad. "I knew he didn't play much mixed and playing three out of five is very demanding."

She was having a laugh with Stu saying that, surely?

Guessed as much when heard of this pairing. Couldn't really see Jamie approaching Martina Hingis. It's great that he is held in such esteem by figures like her.

Actually, it was in the round-up of short stories called "Game Set Match" produced by James Gheerbrant, not Stu, & I've no idea.
Watson/Kontinen and Rae/Skupski both on. Former up by a set and 2-1. Latter down 4-2.
Both matches good, but the former is really superb. Did have to laugh, though, when the man commenting for the BBC said something along the lines that Mirza had been top 30 in singles, but now doubles was what paid the bills. As the woman commenting pointed out, as one of the most famous athletes in India, Mirza probably doesn't have the electric bill coming through the door. It was good to hear someone recognise just how big a superstar she is.
But while I hugely admire Ms Mirza, I'm glad it's Heather Watson's smile that's currently lighting up the court
Wasn't that great?! A super match. Really like Sam Smith's commentary, too - especially things like her pointing out why the Kontinen serve is so difficult to read.
Ken Skupski and Jocelyn Rae lost at the very end of a tight first set 7-5. They are also looking good: really can't think when I've seen either Skupski play so well.
