Heard recently that Anna Brogan was one who has decided that her future does not lie in professional tennis. Came from idle gossip rather than an impeccable source but nonetheless I suspect it is true.

Aw! I really liked Anna. She had a very mature approach to her tennis, which should serve her well in life generally. Best wishes to her if she has indeed decided to pursue a different career.
Meanwhile, Maia retired after the first set today 2-6 0-0 RET
Perhaps the rushing back to London for qualies just caught up with her, at least I hope it's that and nothing more troublesome.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
R1: DEIGMAN, Laura (GBR) 973 lost to CARRILLO MARIN, Alba (ESP) 6 652 5-7 0-6
R1: GREY, Sarah Beth (GBR) 826 lost to BOUZO ZANOTTI, Noelia (ESP) 1060 6-7(6) 3-6
R1: LUMSDEN, Maia (GBR) 8 682 lost to ZAKARLYUK, Marianna (UKR) 893 2-6 0-0 Ret.
Not a good tournament this, and hope Maia hasn't overdone it to any longer term harm.
I has also noticed a week or so back that Anna B was nowhere to be seen any longer and thought she had maybe decided on another life plan. She shot up the rankings initially and then rather plateaued for a while... and then stopped soon after. Wasn't sure if she was back at college or what, but now its been some time since she last played, wish her luck in whatever she does/ is doing now.
