Fantastic tournament for Jo, who I now expect to win several Grand Slams. She's very close to being the best player in the world already, and I expect her to go away and work diligently on the areas that need some improvement.
Particularly her very flat forehand is high-risk, particularly on low-bouncing grass. She needs to work on adding more variety, and could learn a lot from Andy on getting the ball back into court on return. Too many of her winners are a bit too good, hitting the lines when 3 feet inside the court would do the job just as well. Lucky to get past Halep with 36 UEs in the match.
She should hope to soon be seeded to reach the Slam SFs, and I think she has every chance of getting this far or further at the upcoming US and Oz Opens, where she will have less media pressure and a preferred surface.
It was a great run by Jo. Venus stepped up on the big points better than she did - the mark of the best players. I think Jo has areas she can improve on, and that on hard she will be better. It's a shame Andy went out so all the attention was on her. I'm optimistic for the USO for her. (And for Andy if he can get some good recovery)
I'm glad we've got two to players to follow now, with Hev getting back to her best too.
Garbine, by far the best player in the tournament, crushes Venus to win the title. Lost her serve 4 times in the whole event, the last time being against Kerber in the 4th round. Incredible consistency, her lowest first serve percentage 63%, lowest first serve points won percentage 64% (every other match 73% or higher), lowest 2nd serve points won percentage 50%, 6 dfs in the tournament. Not only very difficult to earn a break point against, but fiercely competitive saving 21/25 of the bps she faced (10 of which came in the Kerber match).

The Muguruza Kerber match was one of the best I thought Garbine would win Wimbledon after seeing that match just so glad it's not the Williams sisters

I would have been happy with either. In some ways happy if Venus could get another trophy as she's been in the shadow of her sister for many years now - not an easy place to be. I only hope that she's OK, there was certainly something not right with her in that second set.
