Dare to dream but by my calculations Jo would be number 1 if she wins it!

Jo would be WR 3 after Wimbledon if she wins the whole shooting match. She would overtake Kerber, but can't overtake Ka Pliskova or Halep.

Winning Wimbledon would do for now

Ok, so Jo's on-court performance was pretty good, but it pales when compared to the quality of the "muffins" interview! (at 52min, 41s)

Who said media training was a waste of time?

Thanks, I'd missed that. Worth a watch. Hope to see more of her humorous side.

I've been surprised that none of the commentators/experts have been playing up Ostapenko's chances; her clay-grass transition has been exceptional, and her belief and determination reminds me of a Sharapova or Azarenka. What she could achieve if she keeps playing without fear is rather unbridled, I wouldn't be surprised to see her in the finals...

Wimbledon junior champion in 2014  as well. Going to be very interesting vs Venus and possibly beyond.

It's pretty cold and windy in London today which means quite a big difference in conditions with the roof open and roof closed. I expect Jo will be quite happy to play Halep with the roof closed.

Roof closed, winner to play Venus; Jo trails 0*-3.

Jo just overpressing, particularly when she has more time and an apparently easier shot; has missed 2 breakback points; 1*-4.

Jo seemed a bit laboured at the start of the match. She stepped the power up but then started to miss the lines. Now she seems to have the power under control and is hitting winners.

Halep takes the TB 7 to 2.

Some magnificent retrieving from her in rallies which Jo would have wone several times against most women.

Jo was serving very well until the tie break but then the 1st serve percentage dropped a bit and let Halep in. 6-7(2)
