Kim Clijsters was very keen for Heather to get to work on improving her forehand in order to solidify her ranking and upward trajectory. Hope Beechy & Co. are taking notes.
Also, hope Heather can play with the intensity of the grass court season throughout the rest of the year on hard courts. She has little to lose for the rest of the year, and so redoubling the focus will mean any success brings tangible rewards. It would be good if this was not, in fact, the high point of her year, but such is still yet to come.

Data I post, opinions I offer, 'facts' I assert, are almost certainly all stupidly wrong.
Azarenka was there for the taking but heather was incredibly tight and nervous, but of a shame
A bit tight certainly and at times could have gone for more. But I have certainly seen Heather get much tighter than she appeared here and for the most part did continue to hit out, occasionally overso, maybe after not doing earlier in a rally.
For the most part another very pleasing performance and in spite of being a bit nervous herself in that last game I'd say Vika more won it than Heather lost it.
May she take confidence into the rest of the year and carry on in the generally very good mind frame she seems to be in now.
Hev has had a good Wimbledon. She delivered her upmost, considering her strengths and weaknesses. To achieve better than this she has to become a different tennis player. Her mind is where she can develop the biggest improvements.
In general she gets tight. She can suddenly play very passively on big points, particularly when trying to serve out. She's typically been very inconsistent with her form. And i don't think she knows how to create the right environment for herself as a tennis player. I refer to being aware of the things she needs to establish in her regular processes and set up in order to perform at her best on tour week in week out. There's been little indication over the years she has a grasp on this.
By reaching R3 not only has Heather secured US Open direct entry, with so little to defend for the rest of the year she has probably already got enough points in the bag for Australian Open direct entry though I hope she adds many more !
Her current live 677 race points ( live race position # 56 ) have all been secured this year so are basically her guaranteed Australian Open entry points. 677 points should be enough in themselves for top 100 in the rankings ( and assuming she appears there's another 10 points for US Open R1 ).
Hev should never have lost the game at *3-3 but really the match centred on what Azarenka could come up with.
Hev did really well and should be proud, it's certainly for me not anywhere like the gutter the Serena match was, as Vika always felt the likely winner today.
She's had a great fortnight, hoping for a good summer.
Gutting Hev lost it, and in more ways that one as she didn't go for her shots later on in the match. I only hope that this won't be a pattern every time she plays a big name. For me she's proven she can go it with the best, but hasn't got the mentality to close it out.
I thought Sam Smith and Kim Clijster's comments were very interesting - that it's a technical, mechanical thing (she pushes off sideways, instead of forwards) and should be 'coached out' of her - obviously she does it more when stressed so it's partly mental too but interesting to hear someone (Kim) say that Heather should 'work harder'.
