Weeks 27 & 28 - Wimbledon (grass) - men's doubles

Ken looked a very focused man there, hopefully more to come.

Good win, well done to the Skupski's. Have they ever been to the last 16 of a GS before?

Ken has - US Open 2012 (with Jamie Delgado). Neal hasn't.

An absolutely fabulous performance - looking so sharp in their play! Brilliant.

So delighted for Ken/Neal. This is an amazing performance and their 1st time as a pair into the L16 of a slam. What a place to do it too.

Have to say, that L16 match looks not insurmountable as well. Let's not get carried away, but a QF would be amazing, says Bob getting carried away.

Slow down, Bob. Wolf's and my gloomy prognostications have been more effective thus far.

Live ranking puts them at 89 (Ken) and 93 (Neal), with not a lot of players near them still playing this week. That said, they've presumably just knocked themselves out of the Challengers that others will be playing .... not that I suspect they mind this fact!

Congratulations to Neal and Ken. I watched the entire match and having not seen N & K play for months I have to say this performance was superb and the best I have seen them play. Apart from a little wobble at the end of the third set they hardly put a foot wrong with Neal being outstanding.
All four players contributed to one of the most entertaining and highest standard doubles matches I have seen, superior to some of the singles I have seen this week, this game would have graced the final. A perfect example to those who disrespect doubles as to how good some of these guys are.
If they can keep this up they will be a match for anyone, keep it going guys!

People with Skupski connections - who is currently coaching them? Ken Skupski embraced someone after the match, and the same person was watching Neal and Anna Smith in their mixed doubles (a hugely entertaining match). Is he their coach?

In all the time I have known them, they have never had a coach.  ken has sometimes described himself as Neal's coach wink

One possibility might be Louis Cayer who is the GB Doubles coach and gets around to a lot of matches.  He helps out when he is there but is not their designated coach.

No, it wasn't Louis Cayer. I'd recognise him. (Edit: Twitter answered the question of who the person was, if not of whether anyone is coaching them. I looked at their account to see if they mentioned anyone, and they retweeted a tweet from the person in question, who seems to be a friend from their university days)

At any rate, if Ken is Neal's coach (and Neal Ken's) then they should both find it easy to get coaching jobs once they've retired

Jamie and Bruno lost 7-5 5th set. Disappointing. Saw one report where Jamie had been thinking of the future of the pairing, hope this doesnt hasten any decisions...

Lindstedt is a three-time finalist at Wimbledon. Groth can be rotten to play on grass. They're a pairing that could, on their day, beat anyone.

Sorry, but jamie and Bruno should have won that match. Don't be surprised when they split...
