Now that match was a fun watch.

I really hope that the Wimbledon Today highlights package at least gives the doubles a mention.

It didn't

Though I guess not helped my the nonsense 8.30 timing that can randomly sometimes be put back for live matches so the highlights got cut in half.

Yes. I was just hoping for a quick mention in the summing up at the end but they couldn't even manage that.

But bet they'll mention it when they lose, though.....

Huge congrats to our 2 WC pairs. Had to go out just before the 3rd set tie-break but sneaked a look at the scores during choir practice. Very happy for all 4.

What a very good day.

Great day in the dubs, Jay/Marcus looked the best pair in the 1st, but lost it, then going 2 down, you assume it's all over, but what a comeback !!!!!
Also great for Jonny/Scott to get a win even if it is by retirement.

In terms of ranking boosts, Scott will go up about 50 places to about 208 whilst Jonny will go up 80 places to around the 240 mark. Today's win was worth 5 futures tournament wins in just one day in relation to ranking points and probably a lot more in terms of finance.

Live rankings show massive jumps for Jay (+468 to 416) and Marcus (+345 to 363).

And 16.5k in prize money smile

Don't forget that that's half each.  Still not to be sneezed at for a day's work!  wink

Brilliant. And actually, what a wonderful way for Jay Clarke to play on the 'main stage' at Wimbledon for the first time. Marcus Willis - whatever his tendency occasionally to make the younger player do the running - would be a super person to be on court with for your first match: relaxed and funny as well as talented. Jay Clarke looked, in the bits I saw, not only to be playing really well, but also as if he was having fun - which is the best possible way to begin your Wimbledon career. Congratulations to the two WC teams for a wonderful day.

What an exciting doubles match! But blimey Mr Clarke doesn't half look the part, by far the best player on the court. Have to agree that on your wimbledon debut there arent to many people you would want to partner that would make you feel relaxed.

Tough match, but Inglot and Haase have just gone 2-1 up.

As Wolf said at the outset, that was a bad draw. Murray/Soares aren't having a terrific time of it either. That's a worse draw than it looks - though I'd still hope for them to win.

Yes, doubles prize money is usually given as per pair
