It's fun, but I'll do my annual - Introduce final set TBs Wimbledon !
I don't usually agree with Ben Rothenberg, but I think he has a good point regarding the sudden death nature of 6-6 in the final set being the tensest and most exciting part of the match, so why abbreviate it?
Maybe have a tie-break at something like 12-12 though just to stop matches getting ridiculously out of hand

I can go with that and it is the admittedly very rare longer matches that are to me the bigger problem. Where the length of the 'epic' markedly reduces the chances of the winner getting through the next round. Plus while fitness plays a naturally big part in tennis it shouldn't turn into a say six hour who can stay on their feet longest endurance test.
Just watching the Murray match McEnroe is desperate for a Querry win
I think he will get his wish, Andy is clearly not fit to be out there. I really feel Andy should emulate Federer of 2016 and shut it down for the year after this, he has played so much tennis I think he needs a total break from the game to refresh his mind and body.
I suddenly feel a bit flat after all the highs of the last two weeks. Sad to see Murray lose his crown in that way. We are so used to seeing him play his best. But never mind he is still double Wimbledon Champion. Nobody can take away your achievements. Better for Andy now to rest and get himself sorted and return when fit again. A QF placing is still a great tournament. So well done once again Andy.
In hindsight Andy should NOT have played Wimbledon obviously unfit Henman has said on BBC that Murray had injection on hip prior to playing at start of Wimbledon. He needs to rest forget about rankings and give his body a rest
With his various illnesses and injuries and, clearly not unrelated, lack of form to reach the French Open SF and Wimbledon QF is actually a great effort.
I admire him for playing Wimbledon, and do think it was the right to do so, and in this championship more than any other if he thought it was at all possible he was always going to go for it. To reach as far as he did also showed it was far from a ridiculous notion, just the injury didn't really get better and got him in the end.
Possibly more questionable is whether he should have retired today. Hopefully he hasn't made it significantly worse and maybe it is the type that sure it won't help but you are unlikely to do further real damage.
But now Andy, rest, recuperate and get yourself right, and the rest of the year off sounds not a bad shout whatever. Illnesses and injuries can often be so interrelated, best to feel thaeyt they are all sorted.
Echo those calling for a rest. The number one ranking (or ranking generally) is less important than being able to compete viably in future. Mr Murray owes no one anything - but it would be nice to be able to see him continue in peak form for a while yet!
On an odd statistical note, has anyone else outside the top 10 ever knocked out the WR 1 in the same Slam two years running?
