Harriet Dart

Thanks folks, I just wondered if she had been a leading junior back in the day although if she was I haven't heard of her.

Like Jay, Harriet was answering questions on instagram yesterday and included the following:

End of season goals: to be the best I can be
Best film ever: The Notebook, I cry every time
Marmite - love or hate: hate
Do you support a football team, which one: Arsenal
Toughest opponent you've played: every opponent is tough, sometimes the toughest is yourself
what was your reaction when you saw Jo Konta beat Serena: Not surprised *tagged Jo* Jo is an amazing player and person
I saw you and Jay against no.1 seeds at Wimbledon and you guys were insane: thanks, I carried him *tagged Jay*
fave ever moment: so far being on centre court is up there
next tournament: Landisville 60k (and then US Open)
what's your aims in terms of ranking: keep winning matches and the ranking takes care of itself
what is your string choice: Yonex

For what it is worth, Harriet is placed equal 2nd in the week one version of the Race.

Oh, well done if so

Last year the first counters to the race were ranking points adding on the following week, 13/11/17, same starting week as the men's race. Harriet's 50 points add on 05/11/18.

Just end it now. Shenzhen will have the home representation that they crave, very promising youngster in Juvan, potentially lucrative Indian market and we'll all be happy on here as well. :)

Just looking at the WTA race points on the WTA site itself, the above was indeed fake news from the live-tennis site.

The first counting Monday was as I'd originally expected yesterday, 12/11.

Harriet has 0 race points but congrats to Emma Raducanu, GB race #1 and World joint #48 with her 18 points from her Wirral SF added in yesterday

In the doubles race Freya Christie & Valeria Savinykh are joint #10 pair.

It was good while it lasted! More positively, live rankings are back in line with WTA, but also have maia Lumsden at 12 in the live list! Whoop whoop!

Obviously Harriets mum is a more than decent player. I think we may see a burst of activity, I am right she will move to the 50 and over age group in 2019. Ie one becomes eligible in the year you turn 50.

RS has posted this guardian article in the women's section, but am posting it here too as it talks about Harriet's coaching arrangement with Goran Marijan and her recent shift of base fro Istanbul to the UK, since her coaching arrangement is now full time.
