While I agree that Irina Falconi was a very tough draw (and far tougher than her ranking suggested), van Uytvanck is definitely making a case for being the toughest ....
Shame but not necessarily a surprise that Dart didn't have the stones to see that one off. Looked like she'd been taking lessons from the James Ward school of timid returns on match, set or break point.
I thought Harriet played a lot of super tennis today. Just one bad service game full of careless errors. CB dominated both of Harriet's match points, not much of a chance.
Before today I wasn't at all convinced she had enough weapons to get inside the top 200 but now it looks to me to be more a case of making sure she takes the initiative whenever possible, rather than drifting into the overly passive play that we saw for spells in this match. 2nd serve needs a lot of work. 2nd serve return could be far more aggressive.

Strongly disagree. First one was a lesson in how not to take the initiative and just hope for errors.
Well the consensus seems to be that she does have the potential to get inside the top 200 but needs to overcome her tendency to passivity, perhaps especially when under pressure. Pity as a great show. And thanks for all helpful comments, being unable to watch.
Katy Dunne got broken to love serving for the match, 2 forehand ues and a df. Managed to break again immediately so hope for a better effort this time.
Jorovic with 2 backhand unforced errors for 30-0. Katy forehand winner 40-0. Takes the match 7-5 7-5
