I did a bit of sleuthing and found www.thailand-open.com

It's a 16 player money event, taken over from the Thailand open that was an ATP tour event a year or two back. Appears to be 4 groups of 4 and Neil played kaewsuto of Thailand, ergenemann of Turkey and lindell from Sweden. Results aren't up to date and are on a tab called fixtures. I'm sure it said 200k us prize money as well, if so he must have done well in reaching the semis

Interesting tournament but not sure about the 200k U.S. prize money. As a semi-finalist, Neil has won 150.000 Baht which is about £3.500. If he wins his semi, that doubles his prize money and it would double again if he won the final. There is a Prize Money page under the "More..." tab.

Congrats to Neil on making the SF. Looks like only the group winners go through so it seems likely he will have won all three of his round robin matches.

Yes, not sure where I got 200k usd from but still, 3.5k in one week, pounds, and with chance to get more is not bad. More than a futures event would pay!

Neil appears to have lost to lindell in his final group match, so comes second. Not sure how he is reached the semis but anyway be interesting to see how he finally got on

Lindell must have withdrawn, since he won all three of his group matches. No clues on the web site though

The other possibility is that the top 2 players in each group went through and there was a QF which Neil then won. However the prize money structure doesn't suggest that. There is no mention of anything for reaching QFs. It is participation money plus extra only if you reach the SF.

Neil did tweet he was surprised to get through so suspect it may have been he was second and lindell withdrew and let him through!

Sounds logical to me.
