Yes, a quite magnificent day with 4 brilliant singles wins for Jo and Heather; and despite the jinx potential of me having a day when I could watch.

Agree with the comment above that Kerber's reaction to Jo's heavy fall was first class.

Steven, I should have checked your stats lists yesterday; I was busy telling Mrs V that if Jo won it would be the first win against a #1 since Virginia Wade in the 70s...shame on me for forgetting Sue Barker's claim! I imagine being able to update that particular item on your list must have seemed an unlikely dream for many a long year. Much like the Davis Cup dream it has nevertheless come to pass :D
