[1] Emily Webley-Smith vs [WC] Ali Collins Sarah Beth Grey vs [WC] Mollie Crouch [WC] Eliz Mahoney vs Alicia Barnett Emily Appleton vs [4] Maia Lumsden
[2] Eden Silva vs [WC] Emma Raducanu [WC] Francesca Jones vs Emily Arbuthnott Laura Deigman vs Jodie Anna Burrage [WC] Olivia Nicholls vs [3] Samantha Murray
Laura D ( WR 962 & GB #26 ) is the last direct entry. Just 5 players ranked above Laura are not playing - Amanda C, Suzy L ( would have been 3rd seed but far away just now ), Lisa W, Mirabelle N and Laura S.
Clearly Mandy has been injured and poor Lisa hasn't had her troubles to seek. I haven't seen Laura Sainsbury in a while - injured ?
Pleased that Olivia picked up Jodie's unneeded British tour title WC.

Interesting to see how Ali Collins gets on and Maia qualified last year for the Roehampton qualies
Bottom half Sam Murray is a good player been treated shabbily I think by LTA
Seems Maia has not got any form of favour from the LTA as the only winner of a domestic ITF this year, and for some time. (I think she may have been down for a MDWC at Ilkley, but was shunted out to accomodate Laura R's revised schedule, after she made the Notts doubles final.)
With all of the other 6 QWC slots already filled, there will be no promotion this year for lucky losing finalists.
Maia has actually been playing in Portugal for the last three weeks - although she could have course returned for Ilkley where she was on the original entry list
Yes, Maia being on the list for Ilkley, then not appearing in qualifying or as a WC in the main draw and a MD WC magically appearing for Laura was err interesting.
She has been left without any competitive grass court match play, with I assume Ilkley having been meant to at least provide some.
Great to see Emma Radacanu get a WC, I presume Holly is hurt. It will be interesting to see how Emily Arbuthnott goes, how does playing No. 5 for Stanford compare with playing and winnng entrance level futures?
I'm not sure Holly's team would necessarily have accepted one anyway. I understand that they have their own year plans, that are set very much with the long-term in mind, and it would had to have fit with that.
Emma R is also a year older (in calendar terms) - that might have been a factor.
I'm new to posting but a long-standing follower of this board and of British womens' tennis. I don't share the general agreement with the players accepted for the wild card comp. For regular full-time adult players this is a high light of their year and a rare opportunity to see a possible path to glory! Wimbledon is not a junior event and therefore wild cards should not be given to junior players who have not played senior tennis. The three girls given wild cards without world ranking points have had opportunities to play senior events but have instead chosen to proceed along the Junior ITF route. This may well be the correct decision for them but by giving wild cards to such juniors then regular senior players are being deprived. An example is Manisha Foster who has been injured but still has a world ranking and yet is made a reserve for this event. Generally there is bias against older players in the granting of wild cards by the LTA. This is also shown in British ITF events when juniors are always prioritised over seniors. The treatment of Sam Murray, Tara Moore and Emily Webley-Smith in recent years has also been poor. Players who continue full time after leaving the juniors should be encouraged-it's a tough enough life for them as it is without bias being displayed against them!
