Yes I can remember Jo's knee problem being reported as minor in September 2019. But when she did her press meet up in December 2019 it was reported as a serious problem which might keep her out of the Aussie Open. All her performances before lockdown seem to be affected by knee troubles.Even when the Battle of Brits event was held at the end of July, I can recall Sam Smith saying she was still having troubles there. Later on Annie K. mentioned Jo having some treatment which eased the problem. Knee trouble has caused the retirement of players in the past.Kyle's problems seem to have been going on for sometime.

Can confirm Kyle Edmund's withdrawal from the Australian Open is due to a knee issue.

I do think under the current circumstances players are possibly withdrawing when they would usually give it a go. Is it worth the aggro of going through quarantine if you aren't in top form and aren't struggling for money.
