Birmingham not having much luck. They'll be hoping Jo sticks with it though I can't see it being sensible to play both Birmingham and Eastbourne after the singles and doubles week she's having in Nottingham.
Maybe if she's still feeling fresh enough she'll play Birmingham but if makes much progress here then have the week off before Wimbledon.
Anyone spectating on Monday? I shall be there in green British tennis t-shirt and dark baseball cap, probably sitting in the south stand, feel free to say hello.
Great result, and a really good performance. That gives Naomi 25 + 50 + 55+ points from the grass season so far, which I think is probably her career best, with hopefully a lot more to come.
Super win for Naomi. After a very slow start, she played reasonably well in the first set, especially strong in the tiebreak. 2nd set Alize wanted to be elsewhere, a woeful effort from her.
Weird because Naomi is capable of playing a lot better than that. She seemed terrified of attacking the net, even when dominating the rally.
First set Alize won 3 points from unreturned first serves and 6 from unreturned 2nd serves. At times Naomi looks so slow around the court.
Anyway, important win for Naomi.
