Good to see Anna back with Nicole, hopefully their growing partnership only interrupted by their CR being a bit too close to call for the French Open.
With Anna's recent very good run she now has 50 points as her 11th and final counter and indeed has a 50 spare. So a 60 point R1 win here would only add 10 points net. Hopefully she will be adding that and more.
Good to see Anna carry on her recent very good run, particularly partnering Nicole.
She was already guaranteed to go GB doubles #1 with Naomi out of Manchester, but good to be carrying on winning too. Just 10 net additional points for now. But a further win and she should certainly take out last month's CH 66, looks already close now.

The interesting point here is that I read several takes on the JossAnna partnership before it broke up who viewed Anna as the weaker of the two players... I don't know if it is who they have been playing with since, but Anna has certainly progressed after their break up, whilst Joss has yet to do so (perhaps being hindered points wise too by her Fed Cup involvement - another indicator that she was viewed as the stronger of the pair).
Glad to see Anna and Nicole come through with a win against some 'actual tennis players.'
This sort of result might lead one to believe that "actual doubles players" may have a smidgin' of a chance when playing doubles against "actual tennis players".

Yes, although if anyone saw any of Jankovic's first round single match on BT Sport, it would be difficult to classify her as an 'actual tennis player' at the moment - she could barely hit the ball and lost to a player ranked 280 or so.
But ignoring the doubles v singles 'jousting', it's great to see Anna doing well.
I can't think that it was a good professional move on Joss's part to team up with Laura.
Laura is focusing largely on her singles (with limited success).
If Joss were serious about her doubles career, surely (given her ranking profile) she would have found herself a far higher ranked and more committed doubles player. Although this sounds mean, I can only assume that she did it to take advantage of Wimbly (and other) wildcards that will be almost certain if playing with Laura.

All I read Joss say about her partnership with Laura is it was for the grass season and a committed and content Laura is a rather good doubles player so I kind of think why not, particularly for Wimbledon.
After that, yes if Joss hasn't already got thoughts she probably will have to consider how ( and with who ) she wants to then proceed forward.
