L32:  (8) Aljaz Bedene WR 52 (CH = 45 in November 2015) vs Denis Istomin (UZB) WR 80 (CH = 33 in August 2012)

That's a tough draw on this surface.  cry

Good to see Dom still partnering Robin Haase. I do hope that they continue to pay regularly together, at the very least through this grass season.

Good win for Aljaz. And I'm so pleased that he's drawn in a different quarter from Cilic, Karlovic and Zverev !

I wouldn't say Muller is a desirable draw either mind!

It's an ATP event guys, not a challenger just to remind you all. What do you actually expect as a draw? Reading between the lines suggests more than just me see him as a top challenger player.....

Yes, it's an ATP event, and Aljaz is seeded. And he is at that level between top challenger and regular ATP player, making a move in the right direction.

And Muller isn't a desirable draw either, but better than the other three.

Agree there, I'm just saying that all four of the top seeds are especially good on the grass.

Not a bad win though - Istomin has reached 3rd round of SW19 (see what I did there) four times, moving into last 16 in 2012 as well. Overall he has a 10-8 w/l record at Wimbledon so no slouch on grass. Also he is Uzbekhistans best grass court player by far...

Istomin also won his sole ATP level title on the grass at Nottingham in 2015.  Clear indication that Aljaz is on course to win Wimbledon Jaggy

Istomin is a pretty good hard court player on his day too, eg last 16 at Australian Open this year
